Vula Ma Thuba Non Profit Organisation is based in Mitchells Plein. Ann October founded Vula Ma Thuba in 2015 after seeing the needs in the community including the effects of drugs and gangsterism, youth unemployment and hunger. Ann felt she needed to do something to create change in the community and surrounding areas. Vula Ma Thuba supports community members to secure access to water and electricity. It also does youth education on climate change and supports pensioners experiencing challenges with social grants. Vula Ma Thuba operates community kitchens and provides education about community gardens. The pandemic has altered Vula Ma Thuba's work and our approach has been modified to work responsibly within the confines of lockdown regulations. Vula Ma Thuba wants to see access to job opportunities for our youth and to ensure there's enough resources in communities.
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
To promote social and environmental justice in Mitchells Plain.
